‘Bling Ring’ Movie Premieres

“The Ring Bling” premiered on Lifetime on Monday night; three days after the member accused of a real life “Bling Ring” pleaded no contest to theft charge.

Rachel Lee, 21, a member of the “Ring Bling” pleaded no contest to charge of robbery on Friday. He is accused of breaking into the house reality TV star Audrina Patridge, and took $ 3,000,000 worth of items from his notes. Lee is expected to be sentenced to four years in prison as part of the plea agreement, according to the report.

This does not look like there is a connection with Lee’s court appearances and movie premiere, but did not get the Lifetime bit lucky after pushing back the premiere date.

“The Ring Bling” was originally scheduled to air in August, but delayed the premiere network so they can promote the film for another month.

Although the film is inspired by a true story “Bling Ring”, the names of the characters in the movie is different then the accused thief.

The film is centered on high school student Austin Butler, who like many kids his age are embarrassed and want to be liked by other students. He then met with Yin Chang, and started two steals from rich celebrities. Other friends decided to join in on the fun celebrity robbing millions of dollars in clothing and jewelry.

The ring is actually arrested in 2009 and accused of burglary at home big time celebs like Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox, and Ashley Tisdale.

They allegedly surfing the Internet, and use sites like Twitter to TMZ and find out where celebrities live, and to learn when they will be away from their homes.

Four other alleged members of the ring-Prugo Nicholas, Courtney Leigh Ames, Diana Tamayo and Roy Lopez, Jr., are scheduled to return to court in November for the motion, the Los Angeles Times reported. They all have pleaded not guilty.
